THE STIRRING OF THE NEST

There is a stirring of the nest happening in this season.

We are being called out, just as Peter was called to step onto the water. We are called to take that step out of the nest, perhaps still with our eyes closed, saying with a trembling voice, “If it is You, call me to come.” Call us into the freedom that is found only outside the place where we are now.

The place we have been until now is good. It is a place we have loved and where we have found comfort.

It is all we have known until now.

He is calling us out, yet He is not merely calling us to a different place, different activities, or a different group of people. He is calling us higher into the knowledge of Him.

With every breath, with every attempt to soar, we discover more of who He is and begin to see who we were always meant to be.

We are awakening to a new season, a new dimension of His power and love. The stirring over the nest, the stirring of His voice, compels us to let go of who we thought we were and step into who we were created to become a reflection of His wisdom, power, and love.

The stirring calls us to experience all He has taught us, all that He has formed within us in the heavenly places every time we have entered His presence.

And now, knowing His heart and His love through union with Him, we have become willing to touch the wind once more and discover a new dimension of our God one that removes every limit we have placed upon our own lives. We are called to step out.

How else would we discover what we were made for?

How else would we learn that every time we begin to fall, we land upon His wings?

How else would we learn to soar?

How else would we rise above it all?

It is a new season. The way we have thought and the way we have seen are being expanded. We were not created to remain in the nest, surrounded by clouds and pushed about by the winds of life. We were created to rise above every storm and discover that the same power that was in Christ now lives in us all.

“Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up and carrying them, so the Lord alone leads His people.” (Deuteronomy 32:11–12)

The stirring is an invitation to discover even more of the majesty of our Lord.

The stirring is an empowerment to live as Christ lived and become what we have always longed to be, a reflection of our God.

The nest was never meant to be our destination. It was only preparation for the day we would spread our wings and discover that we were made to soar.

The time has come to enter into a new dimension of His love.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for giving us all that we need for this season. Where you are calling us to come out of the comfortable. Where there is doubt and unbelief, we say, "help my unbelief." Help us to know your nature more and more. When you are calling us into something new, we can rest assured that you are for us and not against us. Use whatever situation or season that I am in to make me more like you and to give you my yes, no matter the cost. We tell our soul, that we trust you and we are willing to do it scared. Thank you for all the preparation up until this point, now let's learn to fly. In Jesus name, Amen!

Activation:

You will need your journal and a space where you can sit with God with no distractions.

I will be asking some questions dealing with the heart.

What areas are you clinging onto for comfort?

Maybe it's as simple as the feeling of familiarity. In Genesis 12:1 & Hebrews 11:8, it talks about Abraham leaving a familiar physical location to embrace his inheritance. He didn't know what would follow suit, but he trusted.

God may not be nudging you to leave a physical location but he could be nudging you out of mindsets, into new opportunities, or stepping out of hiding.

I want you to close your eyes and ask God what it is stirring in your heart that is from Him? Ask Him what is specifically hindering you from the next best step? Lastly, where does your hope and trust need to be restored?

Faith is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things unseen.

Hebrews 11:1

This is where we need to humble our hearts and be real with God and ourselves. Where have we lost hope and trust with God? Whatever He shows you, He wants to restore and remind you of His faithfulness. Without hope, the faith to step out will be difficult. Let hope arise in your heart and stretch out your wings. God has a purpose for you. It's beyond yourself, you are needed for the kingdom.
